Yard Sale preparation and a party!

Hello friends!

Yesterday should be called “The Great Clearing Out Day,” because of all I got done! Many thanks to my Mom and Nana, because they were very helpful in the clearing out process.

You see, my Nana scheduled a yard sale for this weekend! Amusingly enough, on the day of my birthday! Now personally, I can’t think of a much cooler birthday party than a yard sale! A whole mess of people are coming and setting up, and I’m going to be selling all kinds of stuff I’ve had stored up for years.

After going through 5 or 6 BIG plastic tubs, a trunk, a cupboard, and some closets, here is the finished product!

Two-plus tubs of STUFF!

Well, there are things to be done today… so I will head out for now. God Bless!

April Showers…

Bring May Flowers! It’s been raining a lot lately, but I’ve noticed in the past few rains we’ve had that it’s more like a soft spring rain. Ahh. There’s nothing like the spring. It makes me want to be all home-makey. Maybe I’ll try some puddle-jumping after the next rain. I just love puddle-jumping. The best thing about babysitting is that you have a perfect excuse to go puddle jumping. 😀

It’s raining daffodils;
In every dimpled drop I see
Wild flowers on the hills.”

Spring is also a season for cleaning… and I’ve been doing a LOT of spring cleaning on this site, as you may have noticed! And in honor of that, I’ll be having a give-away! SO, the rules are simple: Answer the following question and you’ll be in the contest!

What is your favorite thing about spring?

You’ll be winning a sweet embroidery kit! In this kit is a 100% linen handkerchief with the design drawn on, complete with all the embroidery floss needed to do the project. The design is taken from a set of vintage embroidery patterns I found a while back.

The kit.

I’ll be picking the number using a random number generator on the internet. You have until Friday (4/10/09) to enter, and the winner will be announced on the following Monday (4/13/09). I look forward to seeing your comments!

God Bless and have a wonderful weekend!

Sick.

Hello everyone! I’m truly alive, although a few days ago, I might have said I wasn’t sure if I was alive! I’ve come down with some kind of bug, and it’s been a hard one to beat. *sigh* However, I ate breakfast today, for the first time in 3 days, so I’m rejoicing!

Now I’m up and moving, Mom and I are on a mission this morning: clean out any possible germs. VERY important mission, let me tell you! I’m also feeling house-bound… so I’m going to come up with some reason for going somewhere. 😛 Even if I haven’t got a good reason, I’m going somewhere! 😉

So, that’s why you haven’t heard from me in a while! Being out sick doesn’t leave me much of an update for y’all, but at least you know that’s why I’ve dropped off internet-land. 🙂 Well, it’s a beautiful day, and time’s-a-wastin’! God Bless, and I hope nobody else gets this cold! 😉

I’m back!

After a short absence, I have returned! No, I really didn’t go anywhere, but I’ve been busy over here, enjoying my new-found freedom of being an entrepreneur. 🙂 I had a grand day on Saturday, which was completed by a fun adventure of running out of fuel and having to push a truck (with two other friends) to the gas station. I’m sure you can all imagine, it was hysterically funny, and we were all laughing very hard! Thankfully, the gas station was very close… in fact, we were almost there when the truck ran out! 🙂 Too bad we didn’t have time to take a picture… I’m sure it was quite a sight to see.

Today has been a day for cleaning, and more cleaning. I’ve also managed to write the rough draft for a paper, and am now going to put some bread out to rise. (I made the dough this morning)

Well, there’s not much else going on around here. I’m sure I will have more interesting posts soon, it’s just been so busy, I haven’t had much time for the internet! God Bless, and have a wonderful day, everyone!
